I usually try to get some Xbox Live gaming in each night before I go to bed, and whenever I turn off the system, ready to head upstairs and hit the hay, I feel the console and notice just how damn hot the thing is, thinking, "It'd suck if this thing caused a fire."
Well, that's exactly what happened to one gamer's home because of the 360.
In Little Rock, Arkansas, it seems a residential fire was caused by Microsoft's sizzling console. No one was home and the system apparently sparked a small fire. Fortunately, the house didn't burn down entirely – just some of it went up in flames. Investigators were able to trace the fire back to the 360.
"It was melted and it looked like they had it against the wall in on edge and things like that need a little space to dissipate heat," Little Rock Fire Department Captain Jason Weaver said.
"My Xbox 360 has the rings of death, which means something gone wrong you have to send it back for repair. Generally it's over heating inside," the owner, Carl Olson, told Today's THV.
According to the Fire Marshal, more than $100,000 in damages was caused by the fire.
