These days game demos are in such abundance that sometimes I feel we may take them for granted. Then once a highly anticipated game doesn't receive a playable demo for the fans to play, it tends to sting a little bit. Unfortunately according to Bethesda's Pete Hines this will be the case for Fallout 3 as creating a demo for the title is not possible.
In regards to a possible demo for Fallout 3, Hines states that it is not possible to slice off and isolate one part of the world that Fallout 3 takes place in, and create a demo around it.
"When you build it as one thing, there's no way to portion off a section and have it stand on its own without putting the whole game in the demo, which we're just not going to do," Hines explained.
"And it doesn't really capture the fun of a game like an Elder Scrolls or a Fallout, where you can go where you want and do what you want. So no demo, sorry."
While on the topic of Fallout 3, Hines added that like Oblivion before it, fans will be able to look forward to hearing famous celebrities voice certain characters in the game.
"We pick out key roles for people and who we'd like for those roles, and we always thought Liam [Neeson] was the perfect Father figure," commented Hines.
"We have one or two other roles which we have for which we have things in mind, but the bulk of it - and we have a lot of voice-acting in the game - is done by voice-actors."
Fallout 3 is due out this fall for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and will be available in both a standard edition and swanky collector's edition sets.
