Kotaku has reported that there is a company selling an unlicensed replica of the Energy Sword found in Halo 3. If the image at right is any indication, this looks about as realistic as it gets. Retailing at a mere $49.99, this bargain looks like a wet dream to any Master Chief fanatic.
The following is the sword's description as listed on the sales page:
"Inspired by the ultimate close quarters video game melee weapon!I am honestly conflicted by this product. The gamer side of me thinks it is an amazing piece of work that should be sitting on my mantle. On the other hand, my semi-mature adult self thinks that this is a killing spree waiting to happen. I think it is just a matter of time before the headline reads Teenager Kills Friend Using Weapon From His Favorite Game. Boy, I hope I am wrong...
The most noticeable feature are the two heat treated, Titanium color finish, 440 stainless steel blades. This special treatment, sometimes called "spectrum treatment", causes the colors to shift at different angles and lighting. This effect is similar to the blade effect seen in the video game series. The blades will appear to be different colors depending on the amount of light and reflected colors they are around.
The gray ABS material handle is produced with stunning attention to detail. Accurate in design and size, extremely unique, and well built. Easily one of the most unique and awesome swords in our collection." -- TrueSword.com
