It looks like Peter Molyneux is at it again.
Tonight on X-Play, the leader of the Lionhead army teased not one, but TWO new projects that he was currently developing. In true Molyneux fashion, he didn't release anything very solid but he did say that the first project would be something familiar while the second would be something completely new and original. New and original? Fable 3 confirmed!
Just kidding.
The first game is said to be "familiar" to gamers and will most likely be a new game in one of Molyneux's franchises. This could be a new Black & White or possibly something from his Bullfrog days such as Syndicate, Magic Carpet, or Populous, though the intellectual property rights to those games get a bit complicated. Molyneux has stated before that he'd like to revisit Syndicate, but that the rights issues might make it impossible. Syndicate fans can only hope…
The second game will be something completely different, not only for Molyneux, but he claims it's different from anything any development studio has done before. Is this one of Molyneux's classic promises? Let's hope not. -- G4
Please be Syndicate. Please be Syndicate. Please be Syndicate.
As you can tell, I want a new Syndicate but I wouldn't turn away a new Populous or even a new Black & White. We'll keep you posted as we hear more but I wouldn't get too excited just yet. I'm still waiting to hear about the HUGE announcement Peter had for Fable 2. You know, because I wouldn't really consider the Fable 2 DLC as HUGE.
