As you can only imagine, Metallica had an uphill battle to get their game approved due to some of the lyrics and content within their songs. Though Metallica are no saints, they actually had a more difficult time trying to get Slayer approved to appear in the game. So what was the big snag? Hit the jump to find out.
"I'm super psyched we got Slayer in there," Ulrich told Game Informer. "Slayer's got to be part of any heavy metal video game. There had been some issues with their lyrics. That gets into a whole slew of stuff like, 'Microsoft won't do it if this lyrical content is in there.' There's all this bullshit you have to deal with, but we stood up for Slayer, and we finally got Slayer cleared like a week ago." -- ArsTechnicaSome would give Metallica crap for selling out and making a video game, but this looks like a small step towards redemption, proving that they haven't abandoned their metal roots. I am very much looking forward to snagging this when it come out early next year.
