Joystiq is reporting that Harmonix Creative Director Josh Randall has confirmed that The Beatles: Rock Band is a separate platform from other entries in the Rock Band franchise.
What that means for you is that owners of other Rock Band titles won't be able to import tracks from the Beatles game to their version nor will they be able to download the Abbey Road DLC that's been promised. Conversely, Beatles owners won't be able to play any tracks or download any DLC from other Rock Bands.
As suggested by Joystiq, perhaps there will be a licensing agreement in the future that will help work this situation out - it's a bummer that you'll have to switch out discs to play your other Rock Band tracks.
