With Ruffian on-board to develop Crackdown 2, were finally getting some new information about the much-anticipated sequel, courtesy of Game Informer.
First of all, you'll be returning to Pacific City from the original, with a very similar map, save for a few lingering scars from factional conflict. As you progress through the game, Pacific City will continue to deteriorate.
This time around there will be three factions: The Agency, zombie-mutants, and the civilian uprising. Interacting with the remaining innocent civilians will be a little more, well, interactive. They've been outfitted with weapons and vehicles, you'll be able to trade with them, and you may find yourself having to rescue them.
Gameplay-wise, you'll still be tracking down orbs and expanding your character's skills, with Crackdown 2 featuring a broader range of melee attacks, as well as an improved targeting system. New vehicles and guns are also making their way into the game.
On the online front, Crackdown is getting a Call of Duty-style experience system, as well as four-player co-op and 16-player deathmatches.
All in all, Crackdown 2 looks like it's going to pack a punch. Hopefully the deterioration of buildings and other structures will keep Pacific City from feeling too familiar.
