What appears to be new Modern Warfare 2 footage found on a Chinese hosting site has revealed what may be a campaign mission that tasks players with deliberately killing civilians as a terrorist. Other than the footage itself, there isn't much to confirm the legitimacy of that content being in the game.
According to the narrator of the video shown on 56.com, the player is tasked with killing as many civilians as possible at an airport along with two NPCs. The airport seems to be the same one shown in the recently released "Infamy" trailer that showed terrorists walking through an airport littered with bodies. According to the narrator, the video disappeared several times from YouTube, possibly further validating it.
The video looks enough like Modern Warfare 2 apparently being played on the PS3, but is in pretty low quality. Also there is nothing to validate what the narrator is saying in the video. The mission could possibly have a different purpose than what the player in it is doing.
According to a comment to the video on Connected Consoles from someone claiming to have played an early copy, the mission is entirely optional. There is also nothing to validate that comment either however.
The main worry from the video is that if a level like this is in fact in Modern Warfare 2, it could spark even more controversy than the PC version's lack of dedicated servers.
Modern Warfare 2 is schedule to ship on the second week of November on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
