As you may have heard, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is probably the biggest entertainment release of 2009. And as you may also expect, GameStop is taking advantage by asking its customers to pre-order the HELL out of it. And it seems to be working.
In an interview with USA Today, GameStop VP of merchandising and marketing Tony Bartel reveals that the pre-order reservations for the game are "the highest for any title we've ever sold in our 6,200 store network." Of course, GameStop is planning the works for the game's launch, including midnight releases for most stores on November 10th.
All that's well and good, but what's the point of purchasing from a company that just wants you to trade it in a month later anyway?
