With basically every single major release these days getting the added bonus of a metal-clad multi-disc special edition, it comes as no surprise that Mass Effect 2 will be getting in on the trend when it releases in January.
EA announced today that the Collector's Edition, which will be shipped in limited quantities for both the Xbox 360 and PC, will come packed in the usual tin case, and will also include an "Art of Mass Effect 2" art book, a behind-the-scenes DVD, and the first issue of the Mass Effect Redemption comic series.
"We're really excited to roll out this Collectors' Edition featuring so many unique items, including special Collectors' Edition armor and weapons and content that will surprise Mass Effect fans," said Dr. Ray Muzyka of BioWare and EA. "The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience."
Of most interest is the Collector's Edition price tag. While most Collector's Editions can hit 80 or 90 bucks (or most famously, $129.99) Mass Effect 2's will only cost a reasonable $69.99.
